Why see A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder?

Winner of Four Tonys

This unabashed celebration of theater is a wonderful black comedy whose acerbic wit and clever lyrical flourishes have rendered it a storming commercial and critical success. The darling of the 2014 Tony Awards, A Gentleman's Guide earned an eye-watering ten nominations and won four, including Best Musical and Best Book.

A Caper and a Half!

Charting the rise and fall of the social climbing Monty Navarro (Kevin Massey) and his bizarre quest to off all who stand between him and the coveted D'Ysquith Earldom, this Edwardian caper is based on the classic Ealing studios hit Kind Hearts and Coronets, which starred Alec Guinness in the multi-character role.

Add to this web of murder and deceit the extra complication of love rivals, the passionate and vain Sibella and the innocent and pure Phoebe, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is an irreverent and hilarious new musical that is sure to make a wonderful evening out!

What Is A gentleman's Guide About?

When the low born Monty Navarro finds out that he's 8th in line for an earldom in the lofty D'Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more ghoulish path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the second Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? Because murder isn't the only thing on Monty's mind...

Highly entertaining from beginning to end

The show features beautiful soprano voices in the female leads, wonderfully tight choreography and diction in the duets, trios and ensemble numbers, campy special effects put to great use and the tour de force representation of the entire D'Ysquith family (sequentially, some with 17 second costume changes) by James Taylor Odom. Great individual and ensemble performances across the board. Wonderfully entertaining from beginning to end. ... Read more
